More than 5,000 merchants and visitors from 16 countries, including China, Russia, South Korea and Pakistan, gathered at the International Cultural Exhibition Center to seek business opportunities as the third China Specialty Products Fair kicked off in Sanmenxia, Central China’s Henan province, on Nov 8.

Zhang Weining, vice-governor of Henan province; Huang Qingyi, former CPPCC member and deputy director of the National Working Committee on Children and Women under the State Council; Che Yingxin, deputy Party secretary of the Agricultural Bank of China; and other important officials attended the opening ceremony of the event.

Yang Shuping, Party secretary of Sanmenxia, welcomed visitors and introduced background information of the fair at the opening ceremony.

He said that the approval of the Shanxi-Shaanxi-Henan Yellow River Golden Triangle Regional Cooperation Plan by the State Council on March 31 ushered in great development opportunities for Sanmenxia, as well as the cities of Yuncheng, Linfen and Weinan, four cities in the Yellow River Golden Triangle.

Under joint efforts from the four municipal governments, the China Specialty Products Fair has been successfully held twice. It attracted more than 5,000 exhibitors from home and abroad for its third session. The fair is becoming more and more important in promoting business and industry development in the Yellow River Golden Triangle.

“As host city of the fair, Sanmenxia is rich in mineral resources and agricultural products. We warmly welcome friends from home and abroad to invest for a better future in Sanmenxia!” addressed Yang.

He Jihai, director of the China Business Enterprise Management Association (CBEMA), welcomed visitors on behalf of the CBEMA and expressed gratitude to co-organizers of the fair.

“Specialty products attract business opportunities for its special flavor. I hope entrepreneurs can share ideas on featured products development, find business partners and promote the development of the specialty products industry,” said He.

He also extended thanks to Sanmenxia and wished the China Specialty Products Fair can be developed into a cradle of specialty products in China and beyond.

Supported by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and Henan provincial government, the fair was held this Nov 8 to 12 under the sponsorship of the China General Chamber of Commerce, China Business Enterprise Management Association, Yellow River Golden Triangle Undertaking Industrial Transfer Demonstration Area, Henan Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Henan Provincial Commercial Department, and Henan Province Department of Industry Information Technology.

The Sanmenxia, Yuncheng, Linfen and Weinan municipal governments are the co-organizers of the fair.
